The Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) program is divided into two stages:

Stage One: MSc Research Methods in Business Management

  • Duration: 1 Year
  • Modules: 6
  • Credit Value: 180

The MSc in Research Methods in Business Management equips students with advanced professional, practical, and technical research skills, providing a thorough understanding of the research process. This stage prepares students for careers in academia or research-intensive roles within the business sector. 

The Business Management pathway within the MSc Research Methods involves rigorous training in research methodologies, guided by experienced academic staff. Students will develop the necessary skills and confidence to independently conduct research related to business and management. This stage enhances learners’ understanding of contemporary organizational challenges and opportunities, while fostering critical thinking skills to assess various research approaches and perspectives effectively. Career development is supported through specialized professional research training, addressing individual needs and preparing students for significant contributions to business and management research. 

This stage includes six modules over 12 months, culminating in a research proposal that must be submitted before progressing to Stage Two.

Stage Two: Research Stage

    Early Exit Award: MSc Research Methods in Business Management

    The Early Exit Award provides researchers pursuing Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) an option to receive an MSc in Research Methods in Business Management if they decide to leave the program before finishing their final research thesis. 

    Entry Requirements:

    • A PG/Master’s degree (2.1) or higher in a field related to business or management.
    • OR a PG/Master’s degree (2.1) or higher in any discipline, along with at least 5 years of experience in business or management.
